The transition of fall to winter is one of grace,
and unsubtle.
Leaves tumbling down from the trees
in a plethora of hazel and amber.
Golden rays peeking between the now bare trees
suddenly disappear behind pale clouds,
And a wave of frost chases away
the remnants of life; to hibernation.
And while nature copes in it’s mysterious ways,
humans begin to hole up in their
big blocks of cement. Fireplaces sending
puffs of smoke out of chimneys,
melting snowflakes
tenderly
falling from the heavens.
